We believe bees deserve thoughtful, ethical care—and that beekeeping is better when it’s collaborative.
At Shenanigan Fields, LLC, our goal is to support healthy hives through education and best practices, helping neighbors and land stewards alike.
Whether we are tending to our own colonies or helping you start yours, we offer honest guidance. We’re here to learn, steward, and grow alongside you, with a profound respect for the hive at the heart of everything we do.
Shenanigan Fields wasn’t born in a boardroom; it was born in the dirt, the wildflowers, and the steady hum of a hive. We are two friends who took very different paths to the same passion. One of us grew up with the rhythm of the farm stitched into their DNA, learning the language of the land as a child. The other arrived with a "city-grown" curiosity—a fascination with the intricate, hidden systems that keep our world blooming.
From Scout Leaders to Hive Leaders
The Spark of Adventure: The story of Shenanigan Fields, LLC didn’t start with a hive; it started with a partnership built on campfires, troop meetings, and a shared commitment to leadership. Chris and Charlene first met as Girl Scout Troop leaders, collaborating on everything from large-scale service projects to wilderness camping trips. Over years of managing troops, navigating motherhood, and balancing corporate careers, they discovered a rare kind of friendship rooted in shared values and a high tolerance for "shenanigans."
Beyond the Troops: A few years ago, the "shenanigans" took a new form when Chris invited a group of friends for an ‘adults-only’ hike—no scouts, no agendas, just the open trail. That first hike sparked a tradition of adventures and laughter.
These outings became a vital escape from the pressures of our corporate jobs, leading us on adventures across the country to explore and hike various National Parks. These trips were more than just travel; they were a way to rest, recharge, and create lasting memories together. It was during these many hikes and adventures that we decided to embark on our bee journey.
A Friendship-Fueled Obsession: Knowing that Chris had a deep-seated desire to "get back into" the beekeeping rhythms she remembered from her youth, Charlene—ever the supportive friend—found a local beekeeping class. She signed them both up, unsuspecting of how quickly a weekend hobby would transform into a full-blown obsession. What began as one friend supporting another’s dream became a shared journey into the world of ethical beekeeping, hive health, and sustainable stewardship.
Shenanigan Fields Today: We started our journey with just two hives and a lot of questions. Today, we have grown from that single class to managing our own thriving apiary and a network of personal hives we oversee for others.
While our business continues to expand and we begin to mentor others in the craft, our core remains the same: we are two best friends who continue to grow, laugh, hike, and keep the bees at the heart of everything we do.

Beekeeping is never "one size fits all." Whether you are looking to bolster your garden’s pollination or dream of harvesting your own estate honey, we meet you exactly where you are.
For the Backyard Beekeeper: We provide the confidence and "second set of eyes" you need to navigate hive health, seasonal transitions, and pest management.
For the Land Steward: We help you integrate honeybees into your conservation efforts, enhancing local biodiversity through sustainable practices.
For the Farm Owner: We offer professional, full-service management to ensure your crops are pollinated and your land remains productive and vibrant.
